Polymath Geo proposes to develop an easy to use internet based application (App) that will host earth science lesson plans by utilizing open source educational and GIS software which incorporates the interactive use of satellite remote sensing data. The App will be flexible enough to handle the great diversity of data that is available, but also simple enough for students to use. To demonstrate utility, capacity and potential, the Center for Geospatial Science & Technology (CGST) will collaborate with Polymath Geo to produce and test a proof-of-concept demo App sample module which focuses on the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO). CGST will assist in developing both the technology and curriculum for the App.
