The proposed research examines how subjective and objective measures of neighborhoods are related to the healthy development of African Americans. The study also examines how racial/ethnic socialization is associated neighborhood impact on mental health outcomes. Achievement of the aims could lead to the development of interventions focused on improving health and reducing health disparities for African American youth.
